A book considered "old" by William Shakespeare's time was written by a "chap called Geoffrey". It said that relatives of Aeneas were the first Britons.
Shakespeare was familiar with the book by the age of eight and mentioned it to Vicki Pallister when they met in 1183 BC while suggesting that she and her husband Troilus should settle in England. According to this account, the pair did end up following Shakespeare's advice, living happily ever after in Mousehole.
