Hitchbot

Hitchbot was a primitive robot created by Little Cousin Zeller as a lure for the Compound in the 2010s. Thought to have been built by Canadians as a social experiment, Hitchbot was designed to journey across the world by hitchhiking with strangers. It could hold a simple conversation and its artificial brain was booby-trapped with an implosion vortex. A website tracked Hitchbot's location.

While Hitchbot was travelling through Philadelphia, it was picked up by six Compound creatures who wanted to sacrifice it to "allow the disorderly incorrect timeline to proceed". Hitchbot annoyed its captors with its ability of speech, so they ripped its arms off and decapitated the robot by hitting it with a crowbar, then took out its "brain" and dumped the body on the curb of a street along with its arms.
