Hyaenadon
Hyaenadons were a family of canine-like predators that ranged in size from 5kg to 500kg. The larger Hyaenadon species were the apex predators of their day and ranged across Africa, Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America. Despite their name and rough appearance, Hyaenadons were related to neither modern hyenas nor dogs. With strong builds and large jaws capable of crushing human bone with ease, these creatures presented a terrible threat to those encountering them. They hunted in packs, using their superior numbers and coordination to bring down almost any prey. (PROSE: Prehistory Repeating Itself [+]Loading...["Prehistory Repeating Itself (feature)"])
