As the global situation spins out of control, Kate seeks help from an unlikely source.
The Silents are not done with humanity yet – and they will have their revenge.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Osgood and Sam arrive at the Unified Space Platform to upgrade the communications satellites and encounter the Silents. They lose contact with Kate and Shindi at the British Rocket Group Mission Control and find themselves in the docking module, unaware of what has happened in the two hours since removing their safety belts. The situation reminds Osgood of the Silents, but Sam reminds her that that situation was dealt with.
Shindi, whose legs have healed, removes Jacqui from the premises and takes her back to London, having little memory of Helena Faversham and Kenneth LeBlanc and insisting that the Silents have been dealt with. Jacqui suggests that the Silents might have altered UNIT's memories and asks Shindi to think about it. Josh digs out all of Osgood's comms tech for Shindi to take back to Mission Control to try to get back in contact with Osgood and Sam. He also finds one of Osgood's visors and a drawing of a Silent, leading Shindi to question himself. When Josh puts the visor on and sees a Silent, he remembers everything that happened with LeBlanc and Shindi calls Captain Hallett, believing UNIT to have been compromised.
Osgood and Sam discover that everybody on the Space Platform has been knocked out and drowned using water packs. The cameras come back online, although there is no sound, and Osgood sees the Silents again; they tell her that they intend on having revenge on humanity and that she will forget them. Kate and Baroness Vance momentarily see the Silent on the camera feed, but quickly forget. After a Silent enters the room, Kate and Baroness Vance come to believe that Russia are responsible for what is happening on the Space Platform. Communication is restored thanks to Josh and Kate finds that Osgood and Sam have forgotten about the bodies.
Although believing that they are carrying out their original mission, Osgood and Sam expose all spy satellites. A Telokni spacecraft approaches the Space Platform and Commander Vryle makes contact, having received a Telokni distress call. They hit the station with a sonic wave and Osgood and Sam are knocked out. When they awake, a Silent tells them that they intend on leaving Earth to be destroyed by humanity, who no longer trust one another due to their message. Osgood and Sam trap the Silents in the Space Platform.
David sends a broken visor from the site of the riots to Jacqui and she uses it to see the image of a Silent and to watch the Silents' messages. She uses the image to gain access to the British Rocket Group and encounters real Silents who try to get her to forget them. When that fails, they decide to kill her, but Shindi saves her and shoots them. Jacqui shows the image of a Silent to Kate, making her remember everything that happened with LeBlanc, and Shindi gives her a visor and the notes that Josh found. Shindi and Hallett kill many of the Silents in the base and destroy the UNIT teleportation technology that some of them used to get to the Telokni ship.
A Silent tells Vryle to destroy the Space Platform, but Osgood and Sam manage to escape before its destruction and fall into the ocean where Josh recovers them. Kate uses the image of a Silent to get the leaders of the world to trust one another and cooperate before getting Jacqui to hack into the news feeds and insert a recording of a Silent saying that humanity are the masters of Earth. Kate has the records on the Silents filed under every letter of the alphabet and decides to keep a picture of a Silent on her desk with a photograph of her children. Shindi agrees that all higher-ups in UNIT should and goes to collect some picture frames.
