Jacobite Rising
The Jacobite Rising, (TV: The Highlanders) Forty-five Rebellion, (PROSE: The Universal Databank [+]Loading...["The Universal Databank (reference book)"]) or Jacobite Rebellion, was an rebellion which started in 1745 (PROSE: A History of Humankind) and culminated in the Battle of Culloden on 16 April 1746, (TV: The Highlanders) with a decisive victory for the forces of the British government.
Following the Battle of Culloden, the rebellion collapsed and Charles Stuart, who had led the rebels, fled to the Hebrides, pursued by the British who put a reward of £30,000 (by the 21st century an approximate sum of £15 million) on his head. He eventually managed to escape to France and never stepped foot in Scotland again. (PROSE: A History of Humankind)
