Jenny Nettles

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Jenny Nettles was a journalist and rival of Sarah Jane Smith.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Jenny reported on outlandish stories claiming that the wreck of RMS Titanic was found off the coast of Argentina, that Stonehenge was a giant radio, that the Bermuda Triangle was a square and that the Mona Lisa was a fake. She had a rivalry with Sarah Jane Smith and, following Sarah's stories about scientists being taken back to the Middle Ages and dinosaurs roaming London, she illegally tapped her telephone and learnt about the Third Doctor and UNIT.

Investigating UNIT, Jenny went to Hampstead Heath where she heard that they would be looking into a mysterious octagon and met Kaleidoscope, whom the SSRG had hoped would be found by UNIT. She interviewed Kal on Around and About and, after watching his interrogation at UNIT HQ, followed UNIT's convoy and went with the Doctor to RAF Weatherton. She took secret photographs and tape recordings there and exposed the Doctor on television before the Brigadier had the programme pulled. Jenny agreed to retract her statements in return for access to some of UNIT's activities and effectively became Kal's assistant when he was made temporary scientific advisor.

Jenny was saved from Keeth Hazel and his demons by Kal and was made to write a lengthy report on it afterwards. She exposed Daphne Green as being responsible for Sarah's disappearance thanks to her illegal phone tapping and, once Sarah had been saved, she apologised. She left Earth with Kal, whom she had shared a kiss with, and gave the keys to her car to Sarah. (AUDIO: Kaleidoscope)
