Johnny Philpot

Johnny Philpot was a burglar.

He broke into a scientific research centre, but was forced to hide from the nightwatchman. Unaware that he was hiding in a top-secret time machine, he accidentally transported himself to the future, where he was captured by Automatons and subjected to a series of electric shocks. After twenty-four hours, the effects of the time machine wore off and Johnny was transported back to the research centre, but he accidentally activated the time machine again when the nightwatchman confronted him. He was transported to the Stone Age, where he was threatened by a caveman and chased by a dinosaur, injuring his ankle in the pursuit. After eating poisonous berries which gave him agonising pains, he was transported back to the research centre and arrested by the nightwatchman. He was sent to prison, where he vowed to leave his life of crime. (COMIC: The Unwilling Traveller)
