A kestrel was a type of bird found on Earth. While on what appeared to be a beach in the Silurian Ark, Brian Williams mistook a flock of pterodactyls in the distance for kestrels. As the pterodactyls came closer, their true identity became clear. (TV: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship)
