Kevin stated that it was he and Rabbie who were responsible for the cannibal planet eating the Sun. They travelled to the centre of the galaxy where the Sun should have been and used the power from their ship, The Ashwell Wood, in an attempt to restore some light to that area of space. Their efforts had little effect and Kevin consoled himself by telling Rabbie that Thomas Edison was originally laughed at for the technological advances that he had made. (NOTVALID: Twit in Space)
