Lars was one of the members of Gundar's Viking crew, who, after rebelling against his cruel ways, were cursed by him to eternal imprisonment on an uncharted isle placed outside of Time. When Gundar's descendant lifted the curse, Lars was the first to begin to vanish back to his own era. (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales)
