Launceston was a town in Tasmania, Australia where the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa once stayed for several days in 1993. The Doctor had taken them there ostensibly for a holiday, but really so he could play in a charity cricket match. During one of the days of the match, the Doctor was out for ninety, but his team nevertheless advanced to the quarter-finals.
Launceton had a small town centre, whose shops all three TARDIS travellers frequented while in the area. The three stayed in a boarding house in the area while there, rather than sleeping in the TARDIS. (PROSE: Goth Opera)
