The Leopard Chief or Egbo-Obong was the representative of the leopard society in each Efik village. They were the ulitimate authority on spiritual matters. The Leopard Chief of Gilles Lemaitre's village was the only survivor besides Gilles when the ship they were on sank in a storm. He taught Gilles about the Great Old Ones. (PROSE: White Darkness)
