Mr Martin was a potential investor for Nikola Tesla.
In 1903, he attended Tesla's presentation at Niagara Generator. Mr Martin was confused by the idea that energy could be transmitted through the ether, asking Tesla whether that meant that energy was supposed to be "flying around in the air". (TV: Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror)
