After Mary Whitewash took over producing Who, she demanded that Peri Brown be filmed from above the neck only, giving the reason that people under the age of sixty years old could be watching. (NOTVALID: What If Doctor Who Was Produced By...?)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Whitewash is a blatant caricature of Mary Whitehouse who frequently singled out Doctor Who for its violent and frightening scenes. Whitewash had made an earlier appearance in the works of Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett in the one-off strip The Nice Avengers, which was originally printed in Marvel Madhouse #8 and reprinted in Channel 33⅓. Whitehouse herself later appeared in other stories by the duo.
