Monty was a dog that belonged to Whittaker. Whittaker doted on Monty and found him to be a coping mechanism after being persuaded to retire as headmaster of Winterborne School. Monty and Whittaker were killed in 1995, six months after Whittaker's retirement, by Christian Purcell, who was possessed by Isaac Greatorex.
