Nerena Cargill

Nerena Cargill was a convict who was sent to a colony planet (later named Basingstoke by the Eleventh Doctor), where she was the closest thing to a medical officer. She tried to find a cure to the "plague" which was being caused by a gene splicer. She sent out a series of messages to the Empire warning them that the planet was a biohazard and no one should attempt to make planetfall. Her last message was a fake to make the colony a success, rather than having it covered in concrete by the Empire. (COMIC: Supernature)
