Nicholas Carnon

Lord Nicholas Carnon was the owner of Carnon Manor, a half-way house for the dead.
Carnon had made a deal with Death. He was allowed to borrow six souls for his entertainment, and if he tired of one, a creature in the basement would take it away. Carnon could then obtain another soul.
When the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa arrived at the house, Carnon spoke to the Doctor in a dream. He informed the Doctor that Death wanted him. He had the creature from the basement take Nyssa.
Carnon spoke to the inhabitants of the house, informing them that he would free them if they would kill the Doctor. Though Richard Ferris, Jean Ferris and Douglas Williams tried, they failed, and the Doctor was able to leave the house. (PROSE: The Eternity Contract)
