Pandad IV's regeneration (The Legacy of Gallifrey)

Following the First Omega Crisis, Lord President Pandad IV was forced to regenerate after he and his penultiate High Council were attacked by an enlarged mouse which had escaped after being experimented on by the Rani, his present incarnation being mortally wounded as the mouse ate the lower half of his left leg.

Following the incident, the regenerated President exiled the Rani and appointed Councillor Goth to replace Chancellor Socra, who had been killed by the mouse along with the President's cat. Pandad never found himself another cat, thus ending the tradition of Lord Presidents possessing intelligent cats for pets and advisors, a tradition which had begun with Rassilon himself and would not be brought back until Flavia.
