Patrick McBride was an ancestor of Patricia McBride. His wife Mary McBride told him about a secure work at Patrician Works. He encountered Colton to ask for a job, but was appalled at the low wage of five shillings a day. He told him that this was an insult and warned him about the unions. He later learnt from Patricia that she planned to improve conditions for her workers. The Sixth Doctor told Patrick and Mary to get to high ground to save from the flood.
