A child was born to Percy Shelley and his wife. The child was abandoned in 1814, with their mother, when Percy ran away with 16-year-old Mary Shelley. (AUDIO: Mary's Story)

Elizabeth Ianthe Shelley (1813–76) was the daughter of Percy Shelley and Harriet Westbrook. On 28 July 1814, Percy abandoned her and her mother, and ran away with Mary Shelley to Switzerland, taking Mary's stepsister Claire Clairmont with them.
