Plesiosaurs were a family of aquatic predators that terrorised the oceans for millions of years. Plesiosaurs had round bodies, short tails, and four flippers. The creatures had long and short necked species and varied wildly in length from three to twenty metres. Elasmosaurus was one of the largest Plesiosaurs, measuring about fourteen metres in length and weighing 2.2 metric tons on average.
