Red Jasper
Red Jasper was a pirate captain in the 18th century who encountered the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn Smythe. The Doctor hadn't heard of him. According to Evelyn, Jasper has one or two wooden legs and at least one hook for a hand. His ship was the Adventurer's Fancy. He was obsessed with getting the treasure from the "Ruby Islands". He was extremely cruel and sadistic, forcing one member of his crew to eat his own tongue. Jasper murdered Jem while extorting information from him about the islands. After the Doctor stole his treasure and convinced his crew to mutiny and take Jasper's ship back to England, he and his loyal followers were marooned on the islands. As a joke on them, the Doctor replaced the treasure with game of "pin the tail on the donkey", and amused himself by imagining that Red Jasper would take this to be another clue and dutifully start playing the game, however Evelyn believed this was unlikely.
