Rianne Kilkenny
Rianne Kilkenny was a midwife who found herself trapped in St Helen's Hospital when a horde of "zombies" surrounded the building.

Rianne worked as a midwife under Sister Felicity Andrews. Following a long day, involving a twenty-two-hour labour, Rianne was called by Trystan Thomas to attend the labour of his wife, Sarah; the pair were hoping to meet her at St Helen's Hospital.
Rianne - alongside a group of patients including Nina Rogers - found herself trapped in the hospital reception, as people, initially though to be gang members after the hospital's drug supply, converged on the hospital entrance.
Rianne and Nina took the lift to the maternity ward on the fifth floor in order to get a better view. From the window of Ward 5, overlooking the car park, they saw a number of figures, some missing limbs, and one in particular whose body stopped at the waist. They watched in shock as these "zombies" attacked a late-night hospital visitor.
Some time later, with Nina asleep, Rianne was watching from the window when a shiny black SUV, pulsing with light, entered the hospital car park. She silently urged them to turn back but the vehicle continued to approach the horde of undead massed around the hospital entrance. Rianne watched with Nina as the two occupants, under attack from the dead, climbed onto the roof of the SUV. She clapped as they escaped safely aboard a Coastguard helicopter and landed upon the hospital roof. The "zombies" turned from the SUV and headed towards the hospital entrance. She looked at Nina in horror as she heard the sound of shattering glass from the lower levels.
Rianne and Nina clinged to each other as they heard gunshots from the upper levels. Rianne then followed Nina, who wanted to investigate, out of Ward 5 and into the corridor of the maternity ward. Following Nina out of the ward, Rianne subconsciously drew her firsts to her breasts as a group of people appeared on the open stairwell. Nina asked if it was safe, to which a chubby but friendly looking man replied "Is it ever safe around here? But as far as it goes... yeah. The zombies are dead. Again". (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)
After the zombie crisis had ended, Rianne allowed Nina Rogers to move in with her. Their cohabitation was fraught with tension, since Nina seemingly passed out drunk every night from when she moved in. Rianne confronted Nina about this after finding her asleep on the kitchen floor, and then stormed off when Nina began to dissociate. (PROSE: Consequences)

Rianne had an Irish accent. She didn't like to use the word "patients", preferring to call them her "ladies", as she didn't view pregnancy as an affliction. She enjoyed her job, though sometimes found the long hours tiring - not that she would tell anybody. When trapped in the hospital maternity ward, Rianne thought of her patients; in particular, she thought of Sarah Thomas and hoped that her birth had been successful. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)
