Roberta Craven was an Auton facsimile of the human of the same name.

The human Roberta was killed and replaced with an advanced Auton whilst Herman Baker was setting up Nessoil. Although she believed that she was human, she experienced blackouts during which she worked with Baker to exploit the Nestene Consciousness with the aim of eventually killing it and allowing the Autons to become British citizens. To this end, she killed the staff of the Libyan embassy on 23 October 1973, a crime which she began to investigate.
Roberta soon became aware of the presence of the Autons in London and of the Nestenes being behind Nessoil. She was asked for help in dealing with the Autons by Neal Hart, who was killed and replaced with a facsimile on Baker's orders. She subsequently became an unwilling assistant to Baker until she realised that the Nestene was in the North Sea and send Cornwell to destroy it, after which she learnt that she herself was an Auton and shot Baker.
