Sam was a man with whom George Cooper had an intimate relationship in his younger days. As an old man, George spoken of him often to Lauren Anderson, though he always shied away from identifying his relationship to his "old friend" Sam as romantic to Lauren, something she found "adorable".
George once mentioned to Lauren an incident during which Sam, due to the bad influence of some "boys from Soho" with whom he'd been hanging around against George's advice, Sam took a drug which left him in the hospital for nearly a week. However, everything was alright in the end. (PROSE: Cyberon)
