Samuel Belfrage was a Cahlian who became the owner of a copper factory in Ackleton, after his spaceship crashed in the area. He used a patch to make him look human. He was in the illegal trade of selling halite to other worlds. He accidentally set a piece of Vislak technology, the catalyst, a device which upgraded technology to a more advanced model.
