#nn is equal to the level of magnification.  Default is 6 which very neatly places most cities in the middle of the frame.  Smaller towns may need to have a number as high as 12.  Individual buildings may require something more like 20.

#the type of map is by default {{tt|terrain}}.  '''In many cases, this shouldn't be touched.''' (That's why it's the default!) But if you're trying to identify a building or a campus or some other similarly tight area, you might want to change to {{tt|hybrid}} so that you can display a specific building '''and still have a label'''.  Other possible values that would be acceptable on this wiki in certain circumstances include {{tt|roadmap, satellite, physical}} and, very rarely, {{tt|earth}}.

Note that the header here is carefully designed to be modular with other headers on the page.  If there is a pre-existing "behind the scenes" section, this automatically-generated header will "fit under" that BTS section header. (For the technically minded, this header is an h3, while the BTS headers are set to h2.)  However, it already contains the words "real world" so that readers know it's a BTS note.  So, regardless of whether there's a pre-existing BTS section, this template creates a map section that works.

If you only wanted to change one of the variables — say, the third one — then you'd type the number associated with that item, and set it equal to your chosen value.
