Personally, I think he's 8. Not 8.5 or anything, just 8. It's stated somewhere, (Don't remember where) that 8 died alone. Just like how 10 died, whatever killed 8 could have taken a long time to do so. On top of that, 8 has the starting of a mustache, and stubble, while Hurt has a full-on beard and mustache.
