:: Yes, supplying speedy renames with (short) reasons is a very good idea. The situation I ran into several times was when a speedy rename had been placed because of a conflict with a character from a newly released story, and the page for this character had not yet been created. In such cases, to understand what is going on, the admin must either be psychic or have in-depth knowledge of the exact new story that is never mentioned in the speedy rename tag. I'll freely admit that I'd forgotten about T:DAB OTHER when I put up the rename template; I was just going off of the precedent of The Doctor (Auld Mortality), Third Doctor (Exile), etc. (And my complaints against DAB OTHER in general still apply, of course, but T:BOUND is T:BOUND.) For a while now, I've tried to catalogue my rename reasons on my user page; officialising such a thing in regards to the Talk page would make a lot of sense, I think. – N8 ☎ 16:12, October 31, 2017 (UTC) |
