In [[1756]], he conducted a survey of the [[Nine Travellers]]. Just after he completed the survey, one of the stones fell on him and he died. His portrait was kept in Boscombe Hall for a couple centuries and when the [[Fourth Doctor]] visited the hall in the [[1970s]], he noticed the portrait.
