:I'm sure the vast majority of readers are either aware of both K9 and Reeltime - and will understand the rights situation as such, or are aware of neither. I think the number who are aware of an Australian kids show that was on for 2 years over a decade ago and aren't aware of broader Doctor Who issues is going to be, well, miniscule. But once again, T:NPOV applies, in my mind. ::To play Devil's Advocate, we do list K9 in a TV-series-specific row on the Home Page, so even a total newbie could at first glance get a sense of "there are five DWU TV series, including K9" and be surprised at the fifth one being left out of Whoniverse. And I'm not convinced that T:NPOV inherently prevents us from treating K9 and Reeltime as "different in kind" simply because they are different media altogether. We give them different dab terms and prefixes, after all. If (oh, say…) a DVD release of Season 1 excluded An Unearthly Child, we would be within our rights to note that there is a single item fitting the criteria "Doctor Who, Season 1 episode, televised" missing from that collection; it would be neither here nor there to say "yes, but under NPOV, An Unearthly Child is not more important than The Klepton Parasites". Ergo if we have something which at first glance appears to be "a collection of all DWU broadcast-TV series", and a single TV series is left out, then it's not T:NPOV-breaking to make a note of that particular omission. It doesn't imply TV is more important than home video, it's just more contextually relevant. | |||
::But with all that said, in practice this argument somewhat breaks down insofar as the iPlayer Whoniverse portal isn't actually limited to TV series. For example it includes some but not all Moffat-era mini-episodes; it includes some but not all BBC-produced documentaries before we even get into non-BBC documentaries; etc. etc. At a certain degree of non-inclusivity, individual omissions cease to be noteworthy.
