This is admittedly pure, idle speculation, but given that Leadworth is stated as half an hour by car from Gloucester, is it possible that it's perhaps loosely based on the town of Ledbury? I've never been to Ledbury, but the similarity of names and proximity might be more than coincidence. Can anyone who's been there corroborate/refute this?
