When the sickness struck, he locked-down the entire community in order to prevent the sickness from spreading before attempted to evacuate the entire commuity back to the surface through the use life pods, until [[Eleventh Doctor|the Doctor]] informed him that they would be infested with [[Vashta Nerada]]. Later, when the trans-dimensional gate (through which the sickness and Vashta Nerada came through) was closed, he saw the Vashta Nerada dissapear from the escape pods and later admitted that his attempt to evacuate was idiotic. As a peace offering, he asked The Doctor and Amy if they wished to join him for Christmas dinner - sea pumpkins - but later saw them escape from this in the [[TARDIS]].
