St Peter's Field - or St Peter's Square - was a public square in the centre of Manchester. It the location of the Peterloo Massacre in 1819. The yeomanry's barracks on Mount Street overlooked the field.

After protesters gathered at St Peter's on 16 August 1819, the yeomanry sealed off all exits to the area. The yeomanry then charged through the field on horses, violently attacking the trapped protesters. (AUDIO: The Peterloo Massacre)
