In August 1819, the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan Jovanka visited Manchester. They were present for the Peterloo Massacre on 16 August of that year. By 2424, Manchester became known as Mancopolis, a "proud independent state"; it was a walled city spanning five hundred squared miles, from Wigan Watchpoint in the west and Old Oldham in the east. The city's mayor was Mary Mulberry, and, culturally, many buildings had been named after "legendary figures" in Manchester's history. At 08:30AM at some point in 2424, Gerry pleaded with the mayor to be honest to the public about the economy, but she had him silenced as she deemed him a whistle-blower. An hour and fifteen minutes later, the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday arrive in the TARDIS, however they were quickly arrested by the Care Force for being "tram raiders".
