Staying in the TARDIS was a website created by the BBC in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, consisting of a variety of Doctor Who themed resources for families to keep themselves occupied during Lockdown, launched in late April, 2020[1].

Content[[edit] | [edit source]]

The website included a variety of content for families to peruse and keep themselves occupied, such as, but not limited to, "Where's the Doctor", puzzles, recipes, colouring sheets, quizzes and free audio dramas. For a limited window, more audios and comics were available as well, with these offers expiring after a certain period of time.[2][3]

Challenges[[edit] | [edit source]]

From the advent of the website to the first week of June, weekly challenges were posted for people at home to work on,[4][5] sharing their work as well on [6] twitter.

Prose[[edit] | [edit source]]

Previously hosted on the Doctor Who website,[7] Staying in the TARDIS came to include a variety of short stories written by former Doctor Who writers, as Chris Chibnall felt that Doctor Who needed to be doing something now that the world was going through a tough time.[8] These works were later republished in Adventures in Lockdown along with many works from the Doctor Who: Lockdown!, as well as new works written other Doctor Who writers. When the website originally launched, these were not included, but moved there sometime in late May or early June.[9]
