During the Doctor's TARDIS's use by the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors, its outer shell had a distinct TARDIS police box exterior design.

One account indicated this was the ninth major design of the Doctor's TARDIS exterior. (PROSE: TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual [+]Loading...["TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual (reference book)"])

It was also used by the Remembered TARDIS. (TV: Earthshock [+]Loading...["Earthshock (TotT TV story)"])

Design[[edit] | [edit source]]

Its sides were panelled, with four panels per slat and two slats per side, with the highest panel being six-segment blue-frame windows. A yellowy light came from inside the windows.

The TARDIS doors opened inward and had a door handle on the right door. The TARDIS lock was located on the left side of the right door, adjacent to the upper part of the second highest panel. Unlike other designs, the lock was not used with a key, because the Doctor lost their TARDIS key during the Twelfth Doctor's regeneration. The left door had a telephone panel with white writing on a black background. The lettering was arranged in a manner which evoked the hexagonal shapes of the Thirteenth Doctor's control room.

The Police Public Call Box signs had yellowy writing on a black background, with back-lighting. A distinguishing feature of this design were notches on the corner posts near the top.

The TARDIS lamp was blue. (TV: The Ghost Monument [+]Loading...["The Ghost Monument (TV story)"], et al.)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

After the previous TARDIS exterior was damaged by the Twelfth Doctor's regeneration, (TV: Twice Upon a Time [+]Loading...["Twice Upon a Time (TV story)"]) the TARDIS created this exterior as a replacement. Upon seeing it for the first time, the Thirteenth Doctor remarked to the TARDIS, "You've done yourself up!" (TV: The Ghost Monument [+]Loading...["The Ghost Monument (TV story)"])

After being damaged in the first Flux event, the TARDIS exterior lost its doors, with all four sides of it being the same. (TV: War of the Sontarans [+]Loading...["War of the Sontarans (TV story)"])

When the Doctor reset her TARDIS to repair its Flux damage, the exterior briefly grew glowing red cracks. (TV: Eve of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Eve of the Daleks (TV story)"])

After the TARDIS was duplicated following the Fourteenth Doctor's bi-generation, the Fifteenth Doctor gained a version of this exterior with a ramp. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"])
