Jack as the enemy[[edit source]]
In the same fashion that Andy Davidson is considered the enemy of A Mother's Son and Day Zero, mostly for the point of view of the characters; ie, Andy is considered the enemy of A Mother's Son because Bethan is the main character. If the main character was Ng or St John, he'd just be under Featured characters.
Apropos that, Jack is the main obstacle for Gwen finding out what happened to the disappeared; and he actively discourages her from pursuing this goal. Considering the mystery of the disappeared is the central narrative of the story, and Jack is the central obstacle of the story, it makes sense to me that Jack would be considered the main enemy of the story.
