Vegan Mayo[[edit source]]

As a chef I would like to say that Vegan Mayo is becoming significantly more popular both in the industry and out. At most work places Vegan Mayo has replace non vegan mayo completely for a verity of reasons. Consumer trend also show that Vegan Mayo is replacing non vegan mayo in the market. So may poin5 out that the Speculation about the mayo should not belong on this page. Anastasia Cousins ☎ 21:38, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Firstly, I will say that it is interesting to hear about the popularity of the sauce in the real world. Genuinely didn't know and I like the fact that I do now.
But I wouldn't exactly call it speculation? As there is some evidence for it, even if it may not be conclusive. Perhaps we could wait until The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (novelisation)"] is released so we can see if it clarifies anything?
(I just really hope that RTD is representing vegans in a positive light, considering his many different attempts recently to not stereotype different people in media, and to fix his prior decision to ignore the fact that the Doctor was vegetarian in series one.) 22:04, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
If you have evidence for something without a conclusion, it is still conjecture; like arresting someone when you have some evidence, but being forced to release them without anything conclusive. We have some evidence of vegetarianism in the house via the the souse, but the fact they bought a certain food item (especially went they say their a bit skint at the moment), isn't proof of any lifestyle choices, as User:AnastasiaCousins has pointed out. I support their notion that this is speculation, and should be removed as fact until such a time something more conclusive is brought up.BananaClownMan ☎ 09:18, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
Agreed. I know several people who consume vegan or vegetarian foods without being either. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 09:51, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
Note that using vegan mayo could also be as a result of somebody being allergic to eggs. Aquanafrahudy πŸ“’ πŸ–ŠοΈ 09:54, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
Which is also speculation on their diet until someone mentions an egg allergy. 10:28, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
I think Aquanafrahudy is just pointing out that there are possibilities other than veganism. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 10:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
There are many pages on this Wiki that have similar "speculation", why draw the line here?
The "x implies y" reasoning is not unjustified. 10:55, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
(For the record I'm not objecting to the info' removal based upon the evidence possibly meaning a number of different things, but the "no speculation" reasoning doesn't hold up because many many pages have "x implies y" in their behind the scenes sections.) 11:03, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
I'm sure we have a policy against speculation somewhere... Once Forum:Loosening T:NO RW has concluded, we really ought to have a forum thread about this. Aquanafrahudy πŸ“’ πŸ–ŠοΈ 11:07, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
If Ruby was living alone and came home with shopping including Vegan Mayo, Quorn and a vegan cookbook, I wouldn't have a problem with a Behind the Scenes note on the likelihood of her being vegan. I don't think a bottle of Vegan Mayo is enough to warrant one, though. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 11:56, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
I can agree with that. 18:35, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

Kingston, Jamaica[[edit source]]

It's an interesting fact that Cherry is from Kingston, Jamaica. Perhaps, if we know the source for this information, it would also be worthwhile putting it in the bio, not just the info box? I can't recall if it was said in the TV series or The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (novelisation)"] novelisation, but it's worth adding. Thefartydoctor ☎ 23:41, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

It's in the novelisation!

Cherry had once told Ruby that she used to buy Carla humbugs at Christmas after getting back from the hospital, where she worked as a midwife after arriving in the UK in the 1960s on a big ship, a passenger liner, all the way from Kingston, Jamaica. She’d met Desmond, the handsome, Blue Mountain-born tailor’s apprentice – who would become her husband and Carla’s father – in London a few years later, and the rest, as they say, was history. The Church on Ruby Road.
