Look alikes of the Doctor[[edit source]]

Does this story actually state that this character looks like the Doctor? If not, it is irrelevant who is playing him, as David Tennant is an actor (out of universe), not the Doctor (in universe), and the category will be removed. Shambala108 16:07, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Since this story was released before he was cast as the Doctor, I'd say no. Doug86 16:41, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

It's my understanding that any character played by one of the Doctor actors goes in that category, regardless of whether the resemblance is noted or not. All the ones from the P.R.O.B.E. series of videos are in there and those weren't allowed to refer to the Doctor. And I don't think the fact that it's from before Tennant was cast is relevant since Maxil is also included. So I'm adding it to the category once again. Slughorn42 17:13, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

If it's a prose or audio story, then you have to have narrative evidence that the character resembles the Doctor. (If it's televised or comic, there is a bit more leeway.) Otherwise you are applying out-of-universe criteria to an in-universe category. Therefore, this category is incorrect, and I will check on the other articles you mentioned later when I have a more convenient computer to work on. Shambala108 17:50, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, how about a compromise? A subcategory called "Soundalikes of the Doctor"? Just a suggestion. Slughorn42 18:04, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

The category should be removed from any page where the only evidence is the voice actor. Kurtz certainly doesn't look much like Tennant in the comic preview, which is the only visual in-universe evidence we have. Galanar and Ross Brimmicombe-Wood are in a similar situation to this page, and should also have the category removed. P&P talk contribs 23:41, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

I agree with P&P. "Lookalikes of the Doctor" should only apply to prose and audio characters who are specifically stated to resemble the Doctor. --GusF 19:34, June 26, 2014 (UTC)
