Talk:Daleks Invade Zaos (short story)
This Doctor was not intended to be the Second Doctor. The campaign was specifically not allowed by the BBC to use the likeness of Troughton (or Hartnell). The artist described his design as an amalgam of Troughton and Hartnell. If you look at the cards, the Doctor looks as much like Jon Pertwee or Matt Smith as he does like Troughton. And if you watch the TV ad, it's not Troughton, it's a different actor.
If this wiki wants to consider Daleks Invade Zaos (short story) a Second Doctor story simply because it has to be put somewhere in the Doctor's timeline if it's part of continuity, that's fine. But the writing in this article and Dr Who's Space Adventure Book imply that this is based on the Doctor's appearance. For example:
- The book began by attempting to explain the relationship between the Doctor — who appeared to be the then-current Second Doctor — and a group of Dalek fighters known as the "Sky Ray Space Raiders"
And that's simply not true. He didn't appear to be the Second Doctor, he appeared to be a completely unknown Doctor--who, retroactively, we're assuming is the Second Doctor because of where it fits in the timeline. --50.0.192.53talk to me 07:37, December 5, 2013 (UTC)
