Talk:Dead Air (audio story)
The recently removed note:
- This is the first original audio story to be narrated by the Doctor since Doctor Who and the Pescatons in 1976. The Big Finish Productions audio Last of the Titans was also narrated by the Doctor, in their seventh incarnation.
is interesting, but doesn't make sense: this cannot be the first audio story since Pescatons to be narrated by the Doctor, since Last of the Titans was also narrated by the Doctor.
But, maybe we could replace it with
- This is one of three original audio stories that are narrated by the doctor, the others being Doctor Who and the Pescatons and Last of the Titans.
I don't know if that's actually a true statement, though.

A Vocal Minority[[edit source]]
Do we have any idea (preferably backed up by reliable sourcing) of the identity of the actress who voices the announcer who provides some in-universe exposition as to what we’re listening to right at the beginning of the story? Sounds like it’s the same woman who does the credits, so if we know that we’ll have our woman. NightmareofEden ☎ 02:23, July 26, 2020 (UTC)
Could it be Kate Thomas, the producer, or Kate Webster, the director? I imagine these have small budgets and so hiring a second voice for such a small role in a series of what are normally audiobooks, not dramas, may have been considered more trouble than it was worth, so if they have a female voice already in a major production role, well... the only thing is I don’t know what either of these people sound like. Or, at least, if I do I don’t know that I know. Side note: weird how they made Tennant be the live voice of Layla too despite having an actual female voice on hand, but that’s besides the point. The point is; who IS said female voice? NightmareofEden ☎ 02:35, July 26, 2020 (UTC)
- I haven't listened to the story, so I don't know what the voice sounds like, but let's just keep it as "unknown" for now, since assumptions aren't usually accurate. Never Forget The Day The 456 Arrived ☎ 03:22, July 26, 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, it doesn’t look like there’s a source anywhere. We’ll leave it blank until somebody can uncover the answer, if ever. NightmareofEden ☎ 03:26, July 26, 2020 (UTC)
OK I found an interview with Kate Thomas and it definitely sounds like her. Is there any way we could contact her for verification? NightmareofEden ☎ 03:41, July 26, 2020 (UTC)
