Talk:Dear

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Rename[[edit source]]

Well, all valid, and cited sources on the page are for usage as "Dear Doctor", but the term "dearie" was used by another character in Disney Time [+]Loading...["Disney Time (TV story)"] and, as documented in the invalid section of the page, Gandalf uses it in Endless Awesome [+]Loading...["Endless Awesome (webcast)"] - and I'm sure similar instances occur elsewhere. For this reason, I disagree with moving the page, although if the term "Dear Doctor" is notable enough to warrant its own page, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I think a simple solution could just be adding more examples of where the phrase "Dear" was said, then we can keep this page here? SID'gingerfool'RAT - 🔎 |📂|📝 16:27, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
The use of "oh dear" in the non-valid section I don't think is enough for this page to exist, unless we're covering every phrase ever uttered in the DWU, and that would need a forum discussion if we're going down that route.
I don't think the solution is the find more examples of the use of the word "dear", separating out the notable uses from not would be...tricky. "Dearie" vaguely passes as it's within the realms of the Category:Jargon, slang and colloquialisms category, but dear is just a word. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:32, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
It is a noun though, at least in some cases, "every noun gets a page" and all that. Cookieboy 2005 14:45, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
