Entropy engine vs. Perpetual City[[edit source]]

I've just noticed the interpretation that the Perpetual City is just the Unon name for the entropy engine. I wish I saw it before creating the page for the Perpetual City but here we are. I think I understand the reasoning behind equating the two. However, I got lucky and I think there is a stronger argument showing that they are not the same. Clearly, the entropy engine is part of the City, maybe even the main part, but still these are two different entities and they should have two different pages. Here is my argument:

  • The main reason the Excrothians need the Ninth Doctor's help is to use his TARDIS. The flux shields of the entropy engine are impenetrable to all but the last TARDIS in existence. However, the TARDIS herself is in the Perpetual City, and the Doctor crashes the Lect command ship into the City to get to the TARDIS. If the City is the same as the entropy engine, then nothing would have prevented the Lect from crashing into it and destroying it. Since they could penetrate the defences of the Perpetual City but needed the TARDIS to penetrate the entropy engine's flux shields, it follows that the engine is within the city but not equal to the city.
