Talk:Henry I

Rename proposal[[edit source]]

I agree with the proposed rename, however I think we should also add a conjecture tag, since there's nothing to prevent him being Henry II on in-universe evidence alone. But yes, for ease of searching, Henry I seems like an appropriate change. Danochy 03:21, September 9, 2020 (UTC)

That seems agreeable. --Borisashton 21:44, September 11, 2020 (UTC)
I agree. Anyway, it should, at the very least, be moved to "Henry (Abbey of Heretics)". -- Saxon (✉️) 00:02, September 12, 2020 (UTC)

After doing a bit more research, Henry II is mentioned in the DWU, and as the father of Richard I of England and John of England. This means that the Henry from Abbey of Heretics, who has Maude as his heir, cannot be Henry II. Is the conjecture tag still required based on this evidence? --Borisashton 13:07, September 13, 2020 (UTC)

Good job with that Henry II page! Under the strictest application of the rules, Henry I should have a conjectural tag, but it's obviously not too much of a logical leap (using in-universe evidence) to assume that they are called Henry I in-universe as well. I'd argue a strict application of T:NO RW doesn't really do anyone any favours here. A simple explanation in the behind the scenes section would surely suffice? Sounds good to me. --Borisashton 23:14, September 13, 2020 (UTC)
Thread:238917 seems relevant to the issue of whether the name itself would violate T:NO RW. (Not entirely analogous, but the discussion therein still applies I think. Conjecture tag is appropriate nevertheless.) Najawin 23:23, September 13, 2020 (UTC)
