Henry II

Henry II (PROSE: A History of Humankind) was a Plantagenet King of England, the husband of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the father of future kings Richard I and John, (PROSE: The King's Demons) and Princess Joanna, (TV: The Crusade) his fifth child. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Crusaders [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Crusaders (novelisation)"])

He was descended from the Counts of Anjou. The Fifth Doctor once claimed that Eleanor had told John stories in his youth about one of Henry's ancestors who had been married to Melusine, Satan's daughter. (PROSE: The King's Demons)

The eldest of Henry's sons, Richard, became king in 1189. (PROSE: A History of Humankind) In the 1190s, Richard referenced his father to the First Doctor, saying "by my father's name, you have wit, old man". (TV: The Crusade)
