Talk:Invasion of the Bane (TV story)

Kelsey[[edit source]]

Why do we mention that Kelsey Hooper made her first and only appearance in this story? As it says, it is her *only* appearance, and thus we don't need to mention it in the main section. I tried to edit this earlier and got it reverted, so now I'm confused. Why do we need it? Cult Of Skaro 16:49, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

Why is it "July"?[[edit source]]

I admit I haven't watched this episode in a while but to my knowledge, the only time that "July" is referenced is on the tax disc in SJ's car. It incorrectly states it runs out on "July 2007" (not taking into account that the universe is set a year ahead). But "July" is the date in which it runs out, not the current date. I'm just wondering what was the reference that led us to accept July 2008 as the setting for this story.

If there is no evidence, then surely it should be "before July 2008" or just "2008"? TheFartyDoctor Talk 20:08, June 10, 2018 (UTC)

Upon further investigation, SJ does in fact say 18 months has passed since School Reunion but does that have a specific month in which it is set? TheFartyDoctor Talk 20:11, June 10, 2018 (UTC)
Sarah Jane states that it has been "a year and a half" (approximately 18 months) since K9 Mark IV had to leave Bannerman Road to stabilise the black hole. This occurred shortly after, if not almost immediately after the events of School Reunion. Reunion takes place at an undisclosed time early in the year before the Battle of Canary Wharf. 18 months after January is July.
We know from various stories that the school term starts in early September. The gang's first day is depicted in the next episode, Revenge of the Slitheen so we know this episode happens prior to that. Additionally, it would make sense for Maria to move house during this holiday as well as there being no mention of school during this episode. To give some perspective on the length of the mid-year in England, it is typically six weeks from late July to early September.
If we take the tax disc on Sarah Jane's car to mean July 2008 (the year being a production error) then that is when tax disc expires and it becomes a crime to drive the car on the road. Going off of the assumption that Sarah Jane is not a criminal then the tax has not yet expired and therefore it has not yet become August. This is in-keeping with my previous points. --Borisashton 14:41, July 4, 2018 (UTC)
