I think the dab is necessary, however I'd propose it be be Manchester, England rather than Manchester (city), similar to Cologne, Germany. Danochy 06:34, December 29, 2019 (UTC)

I now better understand how primary topics work, so I'd like to mention that I've changed my mind, and now agree that this should indeed remain undabbed. Danochy 04:51, May 20, 2020 (UTC)
I agree. -- Saxon (✉️) 10:18, May 20, 2020 (UTC)
Agreed. This should be the primary topic and therefore remain undabbed. 66 Seconds 22:02, June 2, 2020 (UTC)
I concur. Epsilon the Eternal 18:45, July 23, 2020 (UTC)
Can we get some progress on this please? 18:48, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Menzies[[edit source]]

As the creator of DI Menzies I can confirm she was not at all inspired by the Life On Mars franchise. The preceding unsigned comment was added by EddieRobson78 (talk • contribs) .

First of all, T:NO SELF REF. And can you provide a source for that claim? Your merely telling us isn't good enough to edit the info on the page. Shambala108 02:58, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Surely that's backwards. Menzies being a police officer from Manchester doesn't seem like evidence enough to say on this page that she might have been inspired by Life on Mars, a show whose characters have little else in common with her. Jack "BtR" Saxon 09:21, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Exactly this. I'm not asking you to put something into the page without a source, I'm asking you to take something out which is not sourced. It's speculation, and you won't be able to find a source for it because it's not true. I also think the "NO SELF REF" rule does not apply here, because that rule specifically refers to biographical information. This is not biographical information, it's background to a piece of work. Information about influences on a piece of work can only be sourced from the people who made it - unlike an actor lying about their age, which can be disproved with a birth certificate.
