Re: proposed title change[[edit source]]
I’d like to point out that the story never refers to Minnie by her full name, hence the current title. WaltK ☎ 23:00, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- I disagree. If you have two members of a family, you don't use the surname accompanied by the for name. To give an example, if you were to refer to Jo Grant and Clifford Jones after they married, you would refer to them as Jo and Clifford Jones. The same principle applies here. 23:04, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- Well… In actual Disney lore, it's worth noting that only a handful of 1930s accounts present Mickey and Minnie as a married couple. The vast majority of material has them as boyfriend and girlfriend who happen to be namesakes, such that there are in fact two, unrelated Mouse families.
- That being said, while slightly unconventional, the phrasing "Minnie and Mickey Mouse" is often used in Disney-related material, also, to convey "Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck" without undue repetition (likewise "Daisy and Donald Duck"). And given how ungainly "(Disney character)" is as a dab term, I'd say the best course here really is to go forward with a rename, albeit with a {{conjecture}} tag due to the slight uncertainty as to whether "Minnie Mouse" can be derived directly from the DWU source.
