Talk:The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (in-universe)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Perspective[[edit source]]

Is there a reason that this seems to be written primarily as an in-universe article? I'm not sure that The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has ever appeared anywhere in DWU fictions. Elements may have, like Oolon Colluphid, and these are deserving of their own articles. But I'm really not sure that the series itself has ever been mentioned. Anyone have an objection to repurposing as a real world article? I think it would make for a more comprehensive and comprehensible read.

Yep, looking at the article it's more about the references to HGTTG and stuff from its universe than an outright reference to the work by Douglas Adams.
So, I don't have any objection to it being re-written as real world. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:12, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Not co-Existing[[edit source]]

If the Vogons blew up earth in every reality how are they co-existing in the same UniverseSigned Doctorin Tardis 04:21, November 26, 2011 (UTC)

"Who is Doctor Who" entry removed[[edit source]]

I've removed two references to the "Arthur Dent" entry on the Who is Doctor Who? website, as many if not all of those entries were user-generated (I wrote one myself). This was previously discussed at Talk:Defending the Earth!. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 04:46, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Our rule is that an entire page should not be based off the website, not that the website is non-canon. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 12:09, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Well, the comment made on the other talk page is that "the information where-in remains canon-ish". How about a mention in the BTS section, but not the in-universe part? —Josiah Rowe talk to me 16:05, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
I think it can stay on the page. Perhaps we should start a forum discussion? OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 17:30, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
That might be best... felinoel 17:34, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
OK. I'll start it. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 17:40, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Discussion started at Forum:Material from "Sightings" page on BBC viral website. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 17:50, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

I do not understand why so important thing like episod with name 42 is just in Metafictional parallels and references, when so tiny fact like Doctor guessing number of protocol is so heighten? It obvious episod 42 is named for Douglas Adams, it couldn't be a coincidence.

(sorry for my english)

In-universe and real world details[[edit source]]

It seems this page has two very different parts: an in-universe description of a play, and details on the connections between the actual Hitchhikers' series and Doctor Who. I think it would make more sense to make a new, real-world page about the series; the only problem being the numerous articles with links to this page in reference to the series.
